Oplossing paleopuzzel 137: Een reis door Haarlem

Paleopuzzel

Beste paleopuzzelaars, 

Om iedereen de kans te geven de paleopuzzels op te lossen maken we bij elke paleopuzzel een apart mapje met de naam 'Oplossingen Paleopuzzel'. 
Dit is het mapje voor de oplossingen van Paleopuzzel nummer 137 'Een reis door Haarlem'. Hier kun je je oplossing in plaatsen. 
Het voordeel is dat iedereen een kans heeft om te paleopuzzelen zonder dat je al meteen de oplossingen van anderen ziet. Het nadeel is dat je niet op elkaar kunt reageren onder de paleopuzzel, maar dat kan dan wel weer in dit aparte oplossingenmapje. Dan zie je daar pas de oplossingen van de andere paleopuzzelaars.

They would not permitt

us to goe up the tower be-

cause they told us they

had an express prohibition

from the majestrates to suffer 

any body to goe up during

the time of war.

     Harlem is a pretty

large & good City, very neat

& clean, famous for its wood

that is just without th(e) tocens

& for the Hills that are on

the other side of it toward

the Sea. their trade is known

to consist in thread & tap

& this is the most famous

place in the wo(r) ld for whiteing

liar Nature of it’s water.

the Stadhouse of Harlem

is a very good building.

& so are the buidings in

generall. there are severall

Canalls rum thro the towns

but not half(e) so many as

at Leyden; this City  has t(hat)

privilidge of keeping a

Scaffold for  Execution stand-

Ing, & having their one

Executiones, which the other

City’s of Holland have by their

mismaneg(e)m(en)t of justice lost. 

They boost  also here of the

Invention of printing, &

in the Stadhouse is preserved

under several Lock’s, the print-

book that was seen printed,

according to their tradition.

        A 4 a Clock that after

Noon  we took  Boat for Ams-

-terdam, the wheather was

pretty fair but the wind

Continued stormy,  It’s 2  hours
