[1] Merevelthoven = Meerveldhoven, a former parish village, forming part of the community of Veldhoven en Meerveldhoven, currently part of the municipality of Veldhoven
[2] jong(e)man and jong(e)dochter were usual terms to indicate that a man or woman had never been married before. Despite the part 'jong' in the word this does not say anything about their age.
[3] Gerrits in this case is a patronym, iondicating that she was a daughter of Gerrit van de Molengraaf

[5] A woman was considered to have come of age at her 20th birthday (or at her wedding day, if she married before her 20th birthday). A man was considered to have come of age at his 25thj birthday or at his day of marriage (if that was before his 25th birthday)
[6] A 'Vrijheid' was an area under the jurisdiction of a town, enjoying certain rights 9such as taxation), although not all the privileges a town enjoyed (such as the right to erect city walls).
