I checked at Historische Woordenboeken of the INL at Leiden, https://gtb.ivdnt.org/search/#, for the word sattynen, but I could not yet spot it. Thank you Otto. That is incredible, I could not find the original manuscript before, only the 19th century compiled volumes. It seems few manuscripts are left anyway from dagh-registers van 't casteel batavia. Your brief context clarified some issues I had with my own translation (Google Translate + paleographic resources) and I'm more than happy for that. There are many Asian regionalisms adapted to Old Dutch in the text and that makes it even more difficult as you probably noticed. The Koelmans book does help, seems one way or another I will have to learn Dutch...Thank you for all the time you put into it, I owe you.
