It is indeed the will of Aaltje van Eteren, mentioned as widow of Jacobus Veenendaal. It is mentioned that she is feeling ill ('sijnde onpasselijk naer den lighaeme') but still sound of mind.
The first part considers the part of the inheritance she specifically wants to bequeath to her daughter and the youngest son of her daughter (the latter not mentioned by name). After Aaltje's death, her daughter will have all the silk, wollen and linnen clothes that belonged to Aaltje ('alle haer testatrices naer te laaten soo zijde, wolle als linne klederen die ten tijd van haer testatrices overlijden bevonden sullen werden ten lijve van de testatrice gedient en behoort te hebben').
To the youngest son of Christijntje Veenendaal and her husband Jan Scheurhuijs (i.e. a grandson of Aaltje) Aaltje bequeathed an amount of 200 guilders. Aaltje is expecting to be able to pay this out of the inheritance of her son Johannes Veenendaal, who had died in the Dutch East Indies; however, if this part of the inheritance of Johannes Veenendaal would appear to be depleted already before or at the death of Aaltje, the bequethal to the grandsome would become null and void.
The remainder of the inheritance of Aaltje (so without the clothing and the amount set aside for the grandsom) would equally befall to the three living children:
- Christijntje Veenendaal (maaried to Jan Scheurhuijs)
- Thomas Veenendaal (at the time of this will in the Dutch East Indies)
- Walraven Veenendaal (at the time of this will also in the Dutch East Indies)
If one of the children would die before Aaltje, the child's part of Aaltje's inheritance would befall to the descendants of the deceased child or, if the child died childless, to the siblings of the deceased child.
To both represent the absent sons and any other descendants or inheritors as well as to execute the will after she will have passed on she appointed her son-in-law Jan Scheurhuijs and her good acquaintance Johannis van IJsselenberg
