This is the will of Anna de Graeff, unmarried, living at the northern side of the Nieuwe Langendijk (at Delft).
She bequeaths a sum of 100 guilders (to be paid in one single payment) to her half-brother Joris Mesch ['broeder van den halven bedde' litteral translated: 'brother of the half bed'] or his descendants (in case he would have died before Anna).
She also bequeaths a sum of 100 guilders to the children of Simon Mesch, also her half-brother, and of Barbara Cornelisdr Rotteveel; this sum is for all children together (so not for each of them).
Both sums of 100 guilders will only be paid to the indicates heirs after Elisabeth Joris' Roscam, widow of Guilliame de Graeff and mother of Anne, will have died.
For the remainder of her inheritance, she appoints Volckera de Graeff, widow of Arturus Peijn (apothecary at Embden, Germany) to be her only and universal heir. Volckera is a half-sister of Anna; in case Volckera would die before Anna, the descendants of Volckera will become heirs to Anna's inheritance. However, if Anna's mother would still be alive when Anna dies, Anna's mother will have the usufruct of all items belonging to Anna's inheritance.
In case both Volckera and Anna's mother would have died when Anna dies, the inheritance will befall half to Joris Mesch and half to the descendants of Simon Mesch.
She also states that, in case she would have children not come of age yet [i.e. under the age of 25 and unmarried] at the time of her death, the governors [weesmeesters] of the Orphan's Chamber can choose for these childeren a legal guardian they see fit.

As always Rene this is really helpful, thank you.

I couldn't work out who Anna de Graeff was- the daughter of Elisabeth Roscam & Willem de Graaff was christened Annitge, but obviously later she was called Anna.

That clears up that mystery :-)

warmest best wishes

Anne
