1662- possible marraige inventory?

Hi Anne,

Given the introductory text on the first image it is an inventory (or part of it) of the goods left behind after the death of Arent van Straten, appraised by Jannetgen Everts, a woman sworn in by the municipal authorities to do formal appraisals of goods. More specifically, it only concerns clothes of linen and wool worn by the late Arent van Straten.

Translation of the content below, I have left out the amounts, as they are clearly mentioned on the images in guilders, stuivers and penningen. The term ' Turkish'  referred to the fashion style that was popular in those days.

Dear Rene and Geert Many thanks for the transcription and translation. I was surprised it referred to Arent Van Straten as in the index of the notary records this , and several other entries were recorded as Jan Arentsz van Straten. It’s still interesting though as I have read Arent Van Straten was bankrupt when he died. Would this explain why the vale of his clothes were being assessed? Very best wishes to you both. Anne
