This is about a debt Raynier Jan Vermeer owes to someone in Rotterdam.

Does it give any further information?

Hi Anne,

Isaac Schepheard has authorised his wife Teuntge Leenderts to act on his behalf. Teuntge on her turn (as she is (as woman) not allowed to act as formal party in business matters) authorised the notary Melchoir van der Borcht to act on her behalf in the matter of an amount of 58 guilders, owed by Reynier Jan Vermeer. There are no further specifications, as the deed is primarily intended torecord the authorization.

I did try to see if I could find any follow on deeds in Delft via the notary Melchior van der Borcht, but so far no luck :-(

For now it will have to remain a mystery why Reynier owed Teuntge and Isaac 58 guilder.
