1612- Claus Albrecthsz van der Maet

Claus is described as 'seller' in this document.

Is there any more information contained in this short deed?

Grateful thanks as always for any help given.

best wishes

Anne

Many thanks as always Rene.

I'm pretty sure the family lived in Delfshaven as I've found documents in Rotterdam archives that mention this family.

It's just disappointed it doesn't mention what Claes Albrechtsz's occupation was. His son Adrien Claes was the Crewmaster of VOC. Claes was an arbiter in a dispute you translated for me before. There's also another legal document from 1622 where he acts as 'administrator and receiver', which I haven't come across before- it's 4 pages long and in my opinion, has very difficult writing (but I'm sure for you experts its quite readable :-)). I just wonder if within these pages it would explain what Claes actually did for his trade/occupation? He seems to help out in quite a few disputes!

very best wishes

Anne
