The only thing I know is this concerns Cornelia (Fransdr) Wij.
This is a screenshot from Haarlem archives who use a different method to Delft archives. It's not possible to download the actual document (it say you do not have permission?) so this is the best I can do.
Does this deed have an exact date? What is it about? Cornelia's husband Adriaen de Vriese (for those of you that follow the threads this is 'the man with the note', who died in 1583.
Initially another document translated on this site state Cornelia Wij is assisted by her father in law, Dirck de Vriese...but maybe he has died by 1585 and she needs help from elsewhere? Just a guess.
Sorry this is a big ask I know, but I'm hoping some help is available from the great volunteers on this site.
I'll add another copy of the same document in case it's easier to read.
grateful thanks as always for any help with this.
very best wishes
Anne
Dear Anne, on the second scan I can indeed read a highlighted name, Cornelia Franss. dochter. Can you indicate the archival collecton and inventory number in Haarlem - held by the Noord-Hollands Archief, I suppose - or send a link to the document, the screenshots are not very sharp fpr me.
Morning Otto
I'll have a look again and see if I can send a link.
I appreciate it's not very clear.
Thanks
Anne
At last I've found the link.
https://app.transkribus.org/nld/sites/noord-hollandsarchief/search?sear…
Hopefully that will make it easier to read Otto- assuming it comes through ok. Let me know if there's a problem.
very best wishes
Anne
Dear Anne, I have already found at https://noord-hollandsarchief.nl/ the notarial register of notary Michiel Jansz. van Woerden (Haarlem, Noord-Hollands Archief, toegang 1617, Notariële protocollen en akten van notarissen te Haarlem, inv.no 6, 2 januari 1585-31 december 1586. At which scans is your act? Giving a direct link can be difficult with this archiving system, but I see the usual linking and download buttons for digitized images...
Yes, the link works, Anne, I had not yet looked at the Transkribus pages of the Noord-Hollands Archief!
That's great Otto. I'm pleased it worked.
I find Noord-Hollands archief difficult to use, so although the Transkribus pages are not ideal, at least I've found links to the people I'm interested in!
Warmest wishes
Anne
Dear Anne, in the act with Cornelia's name above it she authorises her nehpw Willem Jansz., a verwer, paint maker, to act as her legal representative, hence it is a procuratie. It is dated 23 september 1585, and Cornelia is described as the widow of Adriaen Dircks de Vriese/ .
I suppose you can also use Historische transcripties, https://archieveninbeeld.nl/ , and Open Archieven, https://www.openarchieven.nl/ , to find documents and transcriptions of archval collections in serevral Dutch regional archives.
Super-that's great, thank you Otto :-)
It's very useful having the date on the document too.
I'll check out your suggestions for finding documents for people I'm interested in.
very best wishes
Anne
