This is a deed in which most of the named individuals are owners of pottery factories, including Petronella van Dijssel, widow of Leendert van der Leth.
All the pottery owners are listed as 'creditors' whilst the only debtors are Jannetie Abrahams and one other person.
My guess is this is a group action bought by the pottery owners for money due for pottery delivered to a dealer?
It would be good to understand this deed more fully so any help that could be given would be much appreciated.
Many thanks.
Anne
Dear Anne, a quick look shows me you are right in wanting to use this document. The people from delft are described as coopluijden ende plateelbackers, they wait for payment from an Amsterdam merchant, Jacobu de Grae, who has died. He had to pay for the delivery Delft porcelain. Their action is now also against the widow of this merchant. As far as I can see they reach an agreement with due respect for the particular circumstances of Jannetje Abrahams.
