This is a will from 1655. The testators are:
Huijch Harmensz van Dijssel and his mother Claesgen Huigen (who died in 1650).
The 'heir' is Fietgen Pietersdr, who I believe is Huijch's step-sister?
It concerns a boat called ;Great Geneose in Amsterdam- I think?
As always any light that can be thrown on this family through this deed would be really helpful to my research.
With grateful thanks.
Anne
Hi Anne,
Quick summary: it is a standard will, drawn up at the request of Huijch Jans van Dijssel, who is ready to set sail for the Strait (I presume: of Gibraltar) on a ship called 'Groote Leimeester' (not entirely sure about the name). He appoints as his sole heir Fijtge Pieters, his unmarried adult (>24 years old) niece (if I recall correctly, she was also caretaker of the home of the stepfather in the dispute in the other posts...).
