Hi:
I hope someone can assist me in transcribing the causes of death. In sequential order, I will post each record. There will be a red circle. If anyone can assist me, I would appreciate it very much. All are from the 20th century.
Thanks.
The first one is of my grandfather, Bartholomeus Josephus Barnhoorn who passed away on 31 January 1934.
1. tuberculosis renes(?) duplex : tuberculosis affecting the kidneys (I think)
2. hypertensis + thrombosis cerebri: high blood pressure & blood cloth in the brain
3. marasmus senilis: atrophy of the body due to old age
4. icterus gravis: jaundice
5. carcinoma uteri: uterine cancer
6. klepvliesgebrek, hart en hartspierontaarding: failure of heart valve & degeneration of the heart and heart muscle
6. should read: heart valve deficiency (instead of failure)
Thank you very much. These insights into my father's side (health history) are extremely interesting and I have always been curious, especially about my grandfather, his mother and grand maternal grandfather. It's fortunate these records survived. Here in the States, cause of death is recorded on the death certificate. Every nation is different on how such matters are handled.
Meantime, if you have a free moment, I found one more. The reverse side for Petrus Antonius Boer (an uncle to my late father). I think I have an idea, but I will defer to you or anyone else.
Again, deepest appreciation for the help.
Steve
epileptie & inanitie: epilepsy & exhaustion due to malnutrition, blood loss or disease
Once again, thanks. :)
longtuberculose: tuberculosis (TB) of the lungs
Thanks again. :)
Steve Barnhoorn
